Q: How can I become a patient in your practice?
A: You can pick up a Welcome Packet at our office or print it from here and drop it off at the office after you have filled it out. At this time we accept the following insurances: Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Coventry, DPCI, Medicare, and Unison. We do not currently participate with UnitedHealthcare (including OneNet, Mamsi, Optimum Choice, MD IPA, and Golden Rule) or with Amerihealth. It would be our privilage to serve you as a patient in our practice!
Q: Why is fasting important for certain blood tests?
A: In order to get the most accurate results of your lipid profile (cholesterol and triglyceride test) you should not eat, drink, or chew anything for 12-14 hours before your test. You may only have water, which helps to reduce the sensation of hunger and does not usually affect the results of your test significantly.
Other tests, such as your blood sugar level, may require a shorter period of fasting, usually 4-6 hours.
You should always check with your doctor for specific directions.
Q: If I don't hear from the doctor's office about my test results, does it mean that everything is OK?
A: No, it may mean that we have not received your test reports and, since we have no way of knowing if and when you had your labwork done, something important could be missed. It is risky to assume that "no news is good news", and we recommend that you contact our office to check if your results were received and reviewed by the doctor.
Q: What is the fastest and safest way to refill my medications?
Q: Why do I need to see a doctor to get a new medication prescription?
A: Medications can be very beneficial, even life-saving, but they can also be associated with various adverse effects. You should be aware of the common, and sometimes the less common but potentially serious effects that your medications can cause. There is no substitute for a face-to-face discussion of
the benefits, side effects, and alternatives of treatment with your doctor.

Q: Why do I need to see a doctor again if I have already been treated for similar symptoms in the past?
